MUSIC | YEARS & YEARS APPRECIATION POST

King: the
song I’m sure you all know by now. For weeks this song by Years & Years has
been in the top charts. I can’t get enough from their music (and neither from
the lead singer Olly Alexander), so I will dedicate this post to my beloved band Years &
Years.
Years &
Years is a British synthpop band. Their debut single Traps came out in
September 2013. In the first weeks of 2015 their hit single King came out and
by that they immediately made their way to the top charts, having over a
million views on the King’s music video.
Now, moving
on to the reason I like the band so much. I think everyone has been through
this: you’ll listen to this song you love so much, that you’ll get annoyed by
it eventually. I always have this. It’s not like I dislike the song, but you
just heard it so much it kind of gets annoying. Well, with Years & Years I
don’t have this. I have been listening to their song Desire since, I think, October/November
2014 and right now I still can’t get enough of it. I will just never get bored
of their music.
Except for
the vibe around the music, the band member that seem so down to earth, the
nicest music videos and the cutest lead singer ever, I have another reason for
liking them so much. Although they are quite young, they write their own music.
I think their songs are just pieces of art and I give them so much credit for
creating that.
At last I
think their one of those artists that are great live. I think the lead singer
is just so gifted with his voice and the way he performs just makes me weak.
Unfortunately,
they had this concert in the Netherlands a few days ago, but I didn’t have
tickets. I still hope I get to see them live (soon), it would just be so
amazing. On the bright side: Years & Years announced that around june 2015,
their album will be out and I just can’t wait for that to happen.
If you are
interested and/or have a little time, I would recommend you’ll listen to these
songs of Years & Years: Breathe,
Memo, Desire, Take Shelter and Real.
