It's the 3rd of September today. Not the 1st. Even though this blogpost is two days late, it doesn't change the fact that it is September and I wanted to write a post about the new start of this month and Autumn. So here it is. Prepare yourself for quite a long, personal and rambly blogpost.

Summer is officialy over. I personally can not believe it already is; it just went by too quickly, as usual. After weeks of sun, other countries and the vibe of fun and freedom, we need to get back to reality. September is the month in where most people start school, college or uni again, and it's the month where we trade the hot temperatures for colder days. Even though I would do anything to enjoy my holiday again, I kind of enjoy the thought of the start of a new schoolyear. You see, most people set their goals on New Years, the new year somehow always seems to start in September. Just because your break is over, that you have been waiting for all year, and you have a fresh start at school or anything else you are doing. For me the best time to set goals and get motivated again. In this rather personal and rambly post, I'm just going to write of a few things that I would like to share with you, now that September starts (or has started, actually).

    School

My number one priority starting now, is school. Now, the people that know me, also know that this has not really been my number one priority, well, ever really. I study, or actually studied, Journalism and Communication. Of course school is important to me, but until this year I made it through my whole school carreer, as well as in high school and college, quite easy. I was quite a good student, but I never really did the best I could. I just did whatever I thought was necessary and enjoyed talking during classes with my friends. Unfortunately, that took it's toll and I had a rough wake up call which was not so nice. Just doing what I think was necessary, was not enough and I realize that now. Because it is quite personal (and a bit difficult to explain since my education/school and the demands were different than most others),  I might do another blogpost on this if anyone is interested, but let's just say I found out the hard way and I had to unexpectedly change schools. Thankfully it has worked out quite well and I had time to adjust to the change and be happy with what I got. My advice: always do your best even though it is hard and don't take anything for granted!

So, my goals for school. As I said, school has to be my number one priority. Because I am not really a 'nerd' when it comes to school, it might get challenging, but I am really motivated and determined to focus on school this year, do my very best and get good grades (and for real this time).

    Blog

Now, moving on to a more fun part: blogging. At this time I am really getting the hang of it and I have quite a lot of inspiration for my blog! Also I am starting to see a grow in my number of readers, viewers on YouTube and comments. I am really excited to see this, it makes me even more motivated to blog. I am planning to post blogposts consistently and also I am working on my YouTube channel, so you will also see a lot more of The Fashion Daily on there. I also love interracting with my viewers and readers and even though there are not that many, I really appreciate nice comments and your input. So, have you got any blogposts or YouTube video's you would like me to do, suggestions, ideas or just questions, please let me know!

    Work

I recently got my first job (believe it or not, after all those years, I finally did). I got hired at a clothing store and I started my first day just last week. I really enjoyed it and I will be thrilled to work with fashion and people (and of course getting paid, oh yas). As it took me sometime to really applicate for jobs because I had a lot else going on, I am really glad I will be able to do work I like and that is also something new I would like to keep going well and focus on.

    Loads more

And obviously I have much more things I would like to do now that September starts. Being happy and doing fun things with my friends and just being around them, is important for me. Also because of my new school, work and even parties I meet a lot of new people, which I enjoy. But I also want to get in better shape and be healthier (I have not worked out for a month due to being too lazy on holiday, bare with me). Also I am planning travel trips with my friends since I am finally eighteen now and I adore travelling. And of course, being busy with clothes. Now that school is starting and it is a new season and it's getting colder, it could only mean one thing. Refilling my wardrobe and do a lot of shopping, I am so ready.

Sorry for this longer, rambly post! I have much more fashion and beauty related things coming up for my blog, but since there are so many people on the internet writing similar posts to this one, I kind of got in the mood to be a bit more personal and just talk.

Do you have any goals now that summer is over? (And what would you like to see on my blog/YouTube? I am really curious!)

    Love,

    Sarah

Positive thinking: sometimes it feels like it's getting harder and harder. Mostly when there are events or situations in your life that make you feel extra insecure about yourself, it's hard to not feel down at times. Recently I have gone through some personal things that overall didn't do much good to my confidence and my mood. After having some time to think about all the happenings in my life lately, I realized that you can either feel down and shitty about it, or you can use it as an eye opener and really control the way you think. Because after all, you can choose to be happy. In this somewhat personal blog post I wrote down the things that have been helping me feel better lately. I hope it might help some of you if you have been feeling down.

I really think that positive thinking can affect you. Just don't think bad about yourself and other people. If you are a confident and content person, you won't feel as much need to bring yourself or other people down (sometimes most people don't even realize they are doing this). After all, everbody has this sometimes. It is human to once in a while not like everything and everyone, and you don't need to. But just try to think happy about yourself and the people and things around you. If you start seeing the good in everything and you (try to) act grateful, even when life gets a little less, you'll feel that you can find happiness in the most unexpected moments. Tell yourself that you are beautiful and everyone and everything around you is too (even that teacher you hate or that old small car your driving in).

The next thing is to surround yourself with positivity and block out negativity. This is possible on more levels than you think. With this I am not only saying the obvious, like not surrounding yourself with 'toxic' people that make you feel less worthy, but you can also block out negative details. Take for example the things on your phone; don't save pictures of 'perfect' pretty, skinny or curvy girls just for you to compare yourself to them and see them as someone that you have to be. Which goes with my next point: don't compare yourself to others in a negative way. Don't try to think that you have to have someone elses perfect face, grades or boyfriend. Also, don't despise people for it. Jealousy does not make anyone happier. Just want good things for you and others, too. There is already enough poison in this world, you don't have to be a part of that. Try to see that you are beautiful too, and you are yourself. You don't need to change in order for yourself to like you and especially not for others.

After this long perspective on happiness (if you really read that, props for you), I am going to list some simple ways you can have happiness in your life, on short and long term. These things really help me out a lot and it might do the same for you.

    - Replace 'when' through 'if''. Don't use the word if. Just don't. (from the youtuber jbunzie).

    - Help others! You might immediately think about voluntary work, but it can also be a lot more smaller than that. Buying your friend a drink, smile at someone, giving someone a compliment, spontaneously give a loved one a present, being a good listener or giving that dollar (that you weren't actually gonna use anyway) to that street musician you always see. Not only can these small deeds mean a real difference in someones day, it also makes you feel happier to give other people joy.

    - Do things that you like. If you do the things that you love and bring you joy, you will feel much more happier. This can be singing, practising a sport, bake, playing your favourite instrument, drawing or reading. But this can also just be doing your make-up, watching your favourite show or hanging out with friends or family.

    - Dare yourself, challenge yourself and go on adventures! I think that if you are stuck in a routine everyday of the week, you can get a little worn out. By challenging yourself, doing spontaneous things and overcoming fears, you keep your life exciting and you give yourself the chance to grow and learn. This will automatically bring you more happiness.

    - Smile. It's so simple but sometimes so easily forgotten. By smiling you radiate happiness to everyone around you and it can make you feel a lot better. If life is shitty, just smile. It wouldn't change for the better if you were to be walking around with a frown, giving everybody dead looks. So just smile!

Thankyou for reading this. I hope this makes you think and brings a bit joy to your day, even if it's just a little. Just remember that everyone feels a bit less fabulous everyday, but that doesn't change the fact that you are (yas gurl).

    Love, Sarah
