New Year, New Me

10:35

Dear loves,

Happy New Year! It’s the first of January which means yet another year has passed and a new one came around. This year really has gone unimaginably fast, hasn’t it? Sometimes it seems the older I get, the faster time goes. 2017 has been a year for me in which quite some things happened. I graduated from school and started my gap, passed my theoretical car exam (and started driving lessons), I got hired and started working at a new job and I travelled and saw new places. This year (that rather felt like half a year) has been surprisingly good, but I am so ready for 2018!  As far as New Year Resolutions go I, the little list maker that I am, obviously couldn’t go by and not set a few resolutions myself. A few times I did think I might as well not do it as I feel like sometimes we just set expectations for ourselves that are way too high and as an result we feel like we ‘fail’ to accomplish the goals that we’ve set. But I do admit that every year I fall for the thought of reflecting, starting fresh and refresh your motivation towards your goals. So, here are mine:

No more procrastinating. This has been something I have been telling myself for so long, but NO MORE. Started today well by doing everything I have been procrastinating for the last few weeks and it feels good. Going to try my absolute hardest to keep that motivation and instead of ignoring the existence of tasks I don’t like or I find hard, I want to turn it around and make it a habit that I get it out if the way as soon as possible. (Day one has been a success so far, cross fingers it will last).

Stop blaming the universe/circumstances/other people for whatever is negative. You make and shape your life yourself and there is nobody responsible for that then you. Underestimating what I’m actually capable of and telling myself I can’t do things, is also something I really want to get rid of this year.

Be open, go with the flow and get out of your comfort zone. I can be quite a stubborn perfectionist that sees everything in black and white. From now one I really want to learn to accept change, be a bit more open to things and instead of thinking just doing it and take some risks.

Be more creative and capture more. This year I really want to get back to being creative again, as I feel like social media have became a big part in our lives nowadays. I want to get back into drawing, writing, photography and filmography again. Also I would love to capture more, like take more analog pictures and keep a diary and really write in it regularly (instead of writing in it enthusiastically for two days and then forgetting its existence for the next couple of years).

Travel, meet, experience, laugh, love and all those generic lovely shenanigans.

What are your New Year Resolutions  (if ya have em?)
Hope you have had a wonderful New Years Eve and I wish everyone that is reading this a beautiful 2018.

Love, Sarah

  1. Ha! Procrastination. The thing that we always try not to do, that we always do anyway. The trouble of many people's lives! hehe
